Join Our Family as an Au Pair

Hi! Thanks for your interest in joining our family. This short form helps us get to know you a bit before we chat. It should take about 5 minutes. Please answer honestly — there are no "wrong" answers, just trying to find the right fit for everyone.

Quick guide: EU/EFTA citizens can work freely in Germany. Citizens of the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Israel, and the UK can enter Germany and apply for a residence permit within 90 days. All other nationalities need to apply for an au pair visa at the German embassy before traveling (this can take 2–3 months or longer). You must also be 18–26 years old and have at least A1-level German.

A1 is basic conversational German — introducing yourself, simple questions, everyday phrases. It's a legal requirement for au pairs in Germany.

We don't own a car in Berlin — cycling is the fastest way to get around, and we use a cargo bike for daycare drop-off. You don't need to be a pro, but being comfortable on a bike is important.

We have Vasco, a 12-year-old rescue from Tenerife. He's small and very sweet.

You don't need to be vegetarian — we just want someone who's happy eating what we eat. We do some eggs, dairy, and occasional fish.

Just so you know: you can only do one au pair stay in Germany, even with different families. If you've already completed 12 months as an au pair in Germany, you're not eligible for another au pair visa here.

This is your chance to tell us a bit about yourself — your personality, interests, why Germany, why our family caught your eye. No need to write an essay, just be yourself.
